CLASS 2: NOVICE SHOWMANSHIP - YOUTH EXHIBITORS WHO HAVE NOT SHOWN CALVES PREVIOUSLY AT THE ROCKBRIDGE REGIONAL FAIR

CLASS 3: Dairy Steers Born March 15 – June 1, 2008.

CLASS 4: Dairy Heifers Born March 15 – June 1, 2008.

CLASS 5: Beef Steers Born March 15 – June 1, 2008.

CLASS 6: Beef Heifers Born March 15 – June 1, 2008.

*Champion Dairy Steer/Champion Dairy Heifer *Reserve Champion Dairy Steer/Reserve Champion Dairy Heifer DEFINITION: Dairy calves are by dairy bulls from dairy cows. Half-dairy calves will be shown in the beef classes.

RULES:

1. All cattle must be clean, dry and unfitted.

2. Each exhibitor may have a total of two entries per class.

3. All cattle must be halter broken to tie and lead.

4. All cattle must be dehorned; steers castrated and healed.

5. Cattle must be owned or in possession of the exhibitor between the dates of March 15 and June 1, 2008.

6. All exhibitors must wear clean jeans or slacks and a plain shirt with collar. Shirts must be tucked in. No tank tops or sleeveless shirts or blouses. No shorts. Exhibitors will not be allowed to show unless in proper attire.

8. All cattle must have an approved Health Certificate signed within 30 days by an accredited veterinarian showing that they are free from contagious or infectious disease. Animals exhibiting signs of contagious and/or infectious diseases will be removed from the fair grounds.

9. Exhibitors must be residents of Rockbridge or Botetourt Counties and be between the ages of 5-8 as of September 30, 2008. 10. Calves may be brought in Friday morning and will be released Friday evening.
