DIVISION I - MARKET STEERS

1. Home Raised (animals must be owned and raised by 4-H/FFA member or immediate family of the exhibitor, i.e. parents and/or siblings). See general rule 10.

2. All steers will be shown by weight regardless of breed. Classes will be made up after entries are weighed.

RULES:

1. All steers must be shown clean, dry and unfitted. Animals may be clipped, but no sprays or additives of any kind, including

    show sheen are allowed.

2. All steers must be halter broke to tie and lead.

3. All steers must be dehorned and healed.

4. Steers must be owned and in possession of the exhibitor by December 8, 2007. Steers will be weighed and tagged December 8, 2007 at Jerry Swisher’s Scales. Steers not weighed and tagged will not show. All animals must be properly castrated prior to

    weigh-in.

5. After December 8, 2007 steers going through a sale prior to the Rockbridge Regional Fair are ineligible to be shown and sold

    in the county show.

6. Each exhibitor may enter 3 steers. Grand and Reserve Champion steers must be sold. Each exhibitor may sell only one steer at

    auction unless one exhibitor has both Grand and Reserve Champion Steer. In this case, both steers must sell. (Other exhibitors

    will have the option to sell). Steers must grade at least Select Minus to be sold. Steers grading below Select Minus will not sell.

8. All cattle must have an approved Health Certificate signed within 30 days by an accredited veterinarian showing that they are

    free from contagious and infectious diseases. Animals exhibiting signs of infectious and/or contagious diseases will be removed

    from the fairgrounds.
