1. All General Rules and Regulations for Exhibitors apply.

2. Entries must be postmarked on or before June 23, 2008.

3. Entry fee $5.00/Head. Entry forms are available at www.rockbridgefair.com Mail entries and fee to: Jon Repair, Drawer 897,

    Lexington, VA 24450-3355.

4. All sheep in purebred classes must be registered in the flock books of their respective breeds. Animals and papers will be

    checked.

5. Lambs may compete in lamb classes as long as they show their lamb’s teeth. Ages of other sheep must be verified by

    registration certificate.

6. Senior lambs are to be born September 1 - December 31, 2007. Intermediate lambs are to be born January 1 - February 15,

    2008. Junior lambs are to be born after February 15, 2008.

7. An exhibitor may show two animals in any individual class, and one entry in a pair or other group class.

8. Registration number of animal must be sent in on entry form at time of making entry. In case of pending registration of younger

    animals, the breeder’s flock ear tag number must be submitted on the entry form.

9. All sheep will be shown fitted according to the breed. No fitting in wash stalls.

10. Sheep must be tended and kept clean while they are on exhibit.

11. Sheep exhibitors are responsible for their own bedding (sawdust is NOT permitted).

12. Medical Waste: The Virginia Horse Center provides special containers for medical waste (needles, syringes and other

      medical supplies) disposal in each barn for exhibitor’s use. Medical waste must not be discarded in stalls, manure pits,

      garbage cans or on the grounds. Medical wastes must be placed in appropriate containers located in each barn.

13. SCRAPIE IDENTIFICATION: All breeding sheep entered to be shown (rams and ewes) regardless of age must have in

      place, official USDA Scrapie Identification ear tags.

HEALTH SECTION All animals must have an approved health certificate signed within 30 days by an accredited veterinarian or be from a certified flock with a current certification. Health certificates will be checked before unloading. All out-of-state sheep must also comply with all interstate-shipping regulations. Any animal showing signs of infectious or contagious disease(s) must be removed from the exhibit area. Section: A - Dorset B - Hampshires C - Suffolk D - Other E - Commercial Ewes (Classes 6-11) If 3 flocks or more of one breed are entered, that breed will have it’s own division. See Class 13 for flock definition.
