This area is for bona fide Rockbridge 4-H members to enter their individual projects. Exhibits from the listed categories may be entered. See the General 4-H Rules and Regulations for additional information.

AWARDS: All entries will receive a ribbon and the following premium: Blue Ribbon - $2.00 Red Ribbon - $1.00 White - $ .50 Premiums will be awarded, if available. Fair tags, exhibitor number and entry sheets will be available after June 30, 2008. You can obtain these from the Rockbridge County Extension Office, 150 South Main Street between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You can fill out all tags, entry sheets and other forms Monday evening July 14, 2008, but this will take extra time on your part.

1. Each photo (single or album) must have a caption. Single photos must be mounted or framed. Photos must be taken by the exhibitor within the last year.

2. Description of entries: Portraits: Depiction of a personality, head or full figure, posed or informal (not candid) wherein the person is the main interest. Human Interest: Candids, people interacting. Scenic: Landscapes, water, sunsets etc. Architectural: Buildings, bridges, roads etc. Floral: Flowers, gardens, plants, cultivated or wild. Animals: Wild or domestic, pets, etc. Children: Including babies. Story Told With 5 or more pictures: the pictures should tell a story or sequence of events such as a vacation, trip to a ball game etc. Before and After Picture: showing the difference of an event or object such as a house being built (framing-completed house).

1. All canned products, preserves or pickles must be in clear glass, regulation canning jars and properly labeled (contents, type of processing, length of processing .time, pounds of pressure, and date of preparation). Vegetables, fruits and juices must be in PINT or QUART clear glass regulation jars. (NO mayonnaise jars, etc. will receive awards).
2. Jellies, Jams, Preserves positively must be in clear standard pint or half-pint jars.
3. When self-seal lids are used, rings should be on jars.
4. Any jar may be opened at discretion of the judges.
